Who we are
Evora Events (“Evora”, “we”) helps hosts send wedding and event invitations by WhatsApp and SMS. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
We may process: guest names and phone numbers supplied by the host; event details (date, venue, invitation text); messages you send through our contact channels; and delivery status for SMS we send on your behalf.
How we use it
We use this information only to prepare and send invitations, track RSVP or contribution replies where configured, and respond to enquiries. We do not sell guest data.
WhatsApp and SMS
We deliver invitations on WhatsApp for guests who use it, and by SMS (including a unique event code) for guests who do not. SMS is sent through our licensed SMS provider. Carriers and messaging platforms may process content under their own policies.
Storage and retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, in line with Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 (storage limitation). Guest names, phone numbers, and invitation materials for an event are routinely deleted within twelve (12) months after the event date. Contact enquiries are kept for up to twenty-four (24) months. We may keep anonymised or aggregated records longer where they no longer identify anyone. Hosts may ask us to delete guest data sooner once an event is complete; we will honour verified requests unless another law requires us to keep specific records.
Your choices
Guests do not create accounts with Evora. To correct or delete personal data, or to ask questions about this policy, contact us using the details on our website.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do.
